Our House...

Our house in its current state...

The gravel was poured into the foundation today. Here are Mason and Reese running around our future basement.

Here they are standing next to our future cold storage room.

They climbed through the window wells to get in. I believe cement floors are next.

Here is our photo-each-day picture. As you can see the gravel is leading up to the garages and into the garage. Thanks to our builders for working during the slightly wet weather.

By the way, the rest of Logan was rainy today, but north of Smithfield was actually quite pleasant...what does that tell ya? Everyone should come out to the blessed land of Richmond!

P.S. I found my camera so pictures of our current house should be coming soon, that is if I feel like taking them. :)

4-21-10, Day 4

We started building our house on Friday and here it is on Day 4! (No work is done on the weekends). The hole was dug Friday, Footings put in Monday and Tuesday and today they prepared to pour the cement for the basement walls. We'll keep you posted.

It's time

I got a weird commenter from India so it's time to go private. Please put your email in the comments. Don't worry, I have changed my comment moderation so that your email won't be there for everyone to see.

The government wins again...Dang it!!!

So as you probably know by now Reese and I have sold our house and are in the process of moving to Richmond. Yay! So today I have been calling and filling out forms to get our address, utilites, and other amenities switched over to our next place.

I stopped into the post office today to get a change of address form but they don't have them anymore. Instead, they have "Official Change of Address Instructions" (yeah, sounds REAL official). The instructions tell you to go online and enter all of your old an new address information. Then once you have it all filled out you hit "continue," which takes you to the "Identity Verification" page, which says

"For your security, please verify your identity using a credit card or debit card. We'll need to charge your card $1.00."

Don't you just love how they slip that in $1.00 charged to change your address for "verification" purposes. What a load of crap! Can't I just show you my ID when I drop off my change of address card? I know it is only $1 but still!!! It just really ticks me off.
