August's Arizona Trip

Just a tip...It's really hot in Phoenix Arizona in August.

Here is my Aunt Marlene pointing out that it is really hot.

 Mason took this picture of Jaylee and Great Grandpa.  I know it's blurry but at least Mason has great picture-taking timing.  So cute!

 Jaylee liked both Great Grandma and Great Grandpa.  It takes a little while for Mason to warm up to them but then he won't leave them alone.

 Whenever we went somewhere with Grandpa he say next to Jaylee and this was the usual sight.  He always was holding her hand or tickling her arm.  Which at this age, Jaylee did not like being touched, but when Grandpa tickled her, she sat completely still and stared at him.

 Mason loved his blue ice cream cone.

 And Jaylee loved how Grandpa was sneaking her bites of his ice cream.

There is a splash park near my grandparents' house so we went there to play.  Here are Jaylee and Marlene splashing in a little puddle.

 Mason found a squirt gun and never left it.

When we returned home from sunny Arizona, Reese had a couple surprises for us.

If you look carefully at the sign, it says"Do not enter. Lacey's Place. By permission only."  Reese had framed out a room in the basement for all my craft craziness that I do.  I think he was tired of it overrunning the kitchen table.

He had Mason close his eyes for his surprise (Mason has us close our eyes now anytime he wants to show us something including homework that he has to do). 

Reese went to D.I. and found Mason a bike and training wheels.  Mason loves his bike and loves to ride it down our driveway and around our circle.  (I can't emphasize how much I LOVE that we live in a circle!)

 Jaylee's present was a kiss from daddy.

 Here's my framed room.  It's so nice to not have to clean up after my crafts every time I get them out.

Mason's Future Profession

We had to pour some cement for our driveway approach but first we had to drill holes for support bars into the already poured cement.

We had amazing neighbors to help us with the getting the work done.  Mason thought the cement truck was pretty cool. 

Here are all the guys working hard while Supervisor Mason does his job.

 So, just to clarify...Mason will probably be a supervisor/coach/leader of some kind when he is older.

 He's the smartest one there...he watches to make sure the work gets done.

Oh, and he moved his chair there himself to keep an eye on his employees.

 He even got the kids to work.  He's an original Tom Sawyer.

Jaylee is 9 Months Old

(Jaylee turned 9 months old in August 2010.)

I believe she had 6 teeth at the time.

 Whenever the camera comes out, both kids make sure their picture is taken at least once.

Summer Fun...From Last Year

 Mason was able to go to the primary water party.  Here he is sliding down the "huge" water slide.

 Even though he doesn't look like he is having fun..he really liked the slide and didn't want to move onto the next activity.

 Reese and I went to Boondocks down in Draper for one of his work parties.  It was really fun being able to go on a date just the two of us while the kids hung out with Grandma and Grandpa Schroeder.

 I'm back a couple cars rockin the "fast track."

 You can't really tell but Reese is completely soaked from the water soaker game/ride (You know what I'm talking about if you have been to Boondocks).

 We had to hit the fast track a couple more times to get dry.  We also hit the batting cages and did pretty well.  Maybe we'll join a co-ed softball league.

 What would a post be without some Jaylee?  Here she is with a walker (She is 9 months old in these pictures.)

 And her sleeping in her car seat.  Yes, she is sucking on her blanket.  She has done this for quite some time now and still does it

 The next day, we headed to Hogle Zoo.  We went with all of Lacey's family.

 It was a little hot as you can tell by Mason's red cheeks.  Jaylee did great as a backpack-baby.

 Mason HAD to ride the train and of course LOVED it!!!  He still talks about the train at the zoo.

 By the look of things, Mason had a pretty awesome day at the zoo.
