Our Trip to McCall in August

We headed off to McCall, Idaho for our first, just the 4 of us, family vacation in August.  Reese and I were celebrating our 5 year anniversary.  McCall was where we went on our honeymoon so why not go for a revisit.  We stayed at his parents BEAUTIFUL cabin and had an amazing good time. (FYI, lots and lots of pictures)

 We went all the way to McCall for Mason to play in the dirt.  Doesn't he know that we ONLY have dirt in our yard at home?

 Walking across the "bridge" to get to the lake.

 Our first morning filled with delicious crepes.

Then we headed off to the beach.

"Beach baby, beach baby there on the sand..."

 The water is really clear and pretty

 Mason and I swam out to the rock for some leg kicking practice and sun bathing.

 Jaylee thinks the sand is tasty...

 And pushes Dad away after he wipes her mouth clean.

 Mason had Dad go out to the rock with him as well.

And he swam back all by himself.

Therefore, a victory, Ninja pose was in order.

 We had a great day at the beach.

 Later on, we went out for our family anniversary dinner at a lakeside restaurant.  Then kids had fun...

 And Mason practiced his photography skills.

 Mason took this one of Jaylee too, which you probably figured out since both Reese and I are in the background.

 He wanted a silly one since he pulls silly faces all the time.

 We stopped at the Alley ice cream shop and Mason of course ordered ice cream but I don't remember what kind or color it was.  Do you happen to know?

 Jaylee was pooped after all the fun activities so she went to bed and the rest of us went out to roast giant marshmallows.

 Mason was the only one brave enough to attack one, but even Mr. Sugar Lover didn't finish his.  Oh, and Reese had to hold it because Mason doesn't like his hands to be messy.

 One of our last mornings in McCall, we headed to The Pancake house.  Mason of course pointed out the train cake.

 Yes, that is a cinnamon roll and yes, Mason did eat most of it and yes, the small tastes he allowed us to have were delicious!

 They have platter-sized portions.

 Just look at the 6 potatoes that have been turned into Reese's hashbrowns.

We went on a hike to work off 1/100 of our enormous breakfast.

 The slightest breeze blew the map out of my hands.  Reese was the hero who retrieved it.

 Note: The ground was more like quicksand mud so Reese had to balance of 2 roots sticking out of the marsh.  He didn't get one smudge of mud on him.

 Mason felt like carrying Jaylee for a while.

 Final day.

 We stopped in Boise to stretch our legs and say hi to some family.  Here's Jaylee with her cousin Gillian who is a year and a day older than Jaylee.
